Find Relief From OCD
Break free from exhausting mental loops using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)—the gold standard in evidence-based OCD treatment.
Does it feel like OCD is running your mind?
OCD traps you in a heavy, exhausting cycle: an intrusive, distressing thought or image hits (Obsession), causing intense anxiety. To find relief, your brain demands a ritual, reassurance, or mental check (Compulsion). But that relief is only temporary, and the loop starts all over again. You do not have to hold this heavy burden alone. ERP therapy provides a safe, structured space to rewire how your brain responds to fear, helping you reclaim your life.
OCD Shows Up in Many Ways
OCD is much more than a desire for neatness. It thrives on uncertainty and can target the things you care about most. I work with adults navigating many different subtypes of OCD, including:
Contamination: Fears of germs, illness, or environmental toxins leading to excessive washing or cleaning.
Harm OCD: Distressing, unwanted intrusive thoughts or images about harming yourself or others.
Scrupulosity (Religious or Moral OCD): Hyper-fixation on sin, moral purity, or doing the "right" thing.
Relationship OCD (ROCD): Constant, agonizing doubts about your partner's feelings or the compatibility of your relationship.
Symmetry & Order: An intense need for items to be arranged "just right" to prevent a vague sense of dread.
What is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Therapy?
The Exposure: We safely, gradually lean into the thoughts, images, or situations that trigger your anxiety.
The Response Prevention: You learn to consciously resist performing the mental checks or physical rituals that keep the OCD cycle alive.
ERP is a specialized form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) designed to break the OCD loop. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe for you to change your relationship with anxiety:
Myths vs. Facts About OCD
-
Fact: OCD is a chronic, often debilitating neurological condition, not a personality quirk or a love for organization.
-
Fact: Intrusive thoughts are ego-dystonic, meaning they go completely against your true values, desires, and character.
-
Fact: Trying to suppress thoughts makes them stronger. ERP teaches you how to tolerate the thoughts without letting them control your actions.
Collaborative approach: You are in the driver’s seat. I guide and support, but you decide the pace.
Gentle and attuned: I help you feel safe in your body and mind, so processing difficult memories doesn’t feel like reliving them.
Practical grounding skills: We build tools to manage anxiety, distress, and triggers both inside and outside of sessions.
Focus on your unique experience: No one-size-fits-all approach. ERP is tailored to your history, needs, and goals.
Cozy, calm environment: My aim is to provide a space that feels inviting, calm, and supportive — a place where you can truly exhale.
